And can do me a favour? Can you have a look inside the cap for me please? Mine leaks and I'm not sure if an o-ring has come out or something.

IMG_20250328_133231763_HDR.jpg No o ring but there is a white elastomer type seal that sits flat in the bottom of the cap.

I think mine has a leak from the bottom where the flat bit is soldered on so it's not doing any better than yours.🤣

Only keep it for sentimental reasons due to a sticker that got put on it by a mate.

The Alchemist bars 'hip flask of happiness' is the same flask

Take your Mrs/significant other, make your way through the cocktails list. Pinch the gasket out of their newly consumed hip flask and repair your leakage. Other types of leakages may subsequently occur.

My Surly hip flask leaks too now. My bar bag smells of whisky.

My surly flask did similar way back in mid 2000’s, I had a repair post on the old/older/original stw forum where I cut a circle/washer out of old inner tube for the cap, worked great

It's not just surlys. My stw one also is now perforated at the solder joint. 🙁

I think they might be rebranded versions of the same thing. I’m surprised a handy lad like you hasn’t fired up the soldering iron and made it as good as new, Terry!

O-ring required I reckon.... Mine says it's a Lichfield but looks the same. No elastomer but Cork above the o-ring 20250328_204342.jpg

Nalgene hip flask - 15 years so far on mine. I ditched the blue sleeve a long time ago.

I considered it, then I thought....what does the inside of this flask look like if it's corroding through the joints - do I really want to drink that.

Like the idea of that nalgene flask if not for it looking like you've just bought a plastic bottle of Tesco value catpiss.....

I've been using a Tomshoo titanium hipflask recently. It has the "advantage" of taking less whisky 😂
