A truly marvellous film. Watched it at the cinema after rave reviews from Kermode, wonderfully uplifting feel good film, though the opening troop carrier scene was an unexpected opening. Wonderful piece of unexpectedly good low budget British film making, like Made in Dagenham or that strippers thing in Sheffield.
I'd really like to see the stage show it came from.

One of them lives next door to me it turns out, wasn't who i expected to open the door but a very pleasant chap.
