Summer hat for the follicly challenged - Tilley hat style?

I have got one hat that doesn’t get worn often, it’s more of a festival hat, without being one of those weird things with spines and loads of odd colours. It’s just a straw stetson-style thing that I bought at the IoW Festival in 2015, and I bought a dayglo orange bandana to go round it. It wasn’t until a friend watching the festival on telly texted me to say she’d seen me on telly that I realised it was on tv, so I checked it out when I got home. The orange band showed up even when I couldn’t see myself! I mostly don’t wear it because of the brim catching on stuff and not being able to get bag straps over my head. It does show up a bit…

Easy to find in a crowd… 🤪

I do have a couple of Tilly Hats, but one’s a waxed cotton and the other a Wool Canadian Winter - neither appropriate for current weather!

My lightweight Tilly has been a staple for over 10 years. Made of microfibre, it's fabulous. They stopped making them for a few years then brought them back. Very light, packs small and you barely notice you are wearing it. Slightly floppy brim in the wind. Worth every penny.

I've got the OR Helios one like @binners. I've had it 8-9 years now and it's been very good (the only negative is the lack of vents).

Has anyone got a Sunday Afternoons brand sun hat? I've seen some online and they look like a OR - Tilley hybrid

We sell these hats and they are the business.

That looks really good. It's only Portillo if you team it with flamboyant pastels, surely?

Personally I'm wearing either a bucket hat or Olney panama at the mo.

I am currently using one of these on the bike

It looks ridiculous but is cheap, light, and seems to work OK. A bit flappy  faster than 16 mph but bearable.

@zippykona - I think you may have attained middle class nirvana

Its actually a hat that is without doubt the most middle class purchase I've ever made. For winter use, so not applicable here, but its a waxed cotton flat cap, bought from John Lewis. I feel like a better person when I wear it and instinctively head for the nearest Booths 😂

I use a Buff hat, it works fine but I'm rather disappointed that it quickly faded in the sun (after just a few weeks) and now looks very tired.  It wasn't cheap either.  The outside used to be the same colour as the inside.

@Elshalimo it's one of these.
I know it's got a lady's name but we sell 50/ 50 to men. There's 2 blue colours and a green as well.

Oddly CZ, I always pictured you as more beardy. Maybe it was the "count" bit.

@Rockhopper That's really bad. Have you got onto Buff / the retailer about it?
