I was idly wondering,
Would it be possible / a good idea to apply some basic restrictions to new accounts to cut down on the amount of spam we're seeing? I'm thinking maybe disabling hyperlinks and blocking replies on threads older than a couple of months, maybe until the account's a couple of weeks old?
Thoughts?
Yep, I was wondering exactly the same thing. I think a threads are already locked at one year but I'd love to add not allowing posts with a link until the 5 th post or something like that.
But the best replies are often links.
Surely the answer is just to tighten up on the forum registration processes - or restrict the right of reply to Premier members only.

I meant until a new user had made at least 5 posts and then they can post links to their hearts content rather than the 5 post in a thread
or restrict the right of reply to Premier members only.
lol!
