Ok got it, the artist is Joe Petagno. He did all the motorhead covers. I cannot fidn the pic online but I have it my book of SF and will scan it in tomorrow.
Yeah but he was also once very famous for his SF art. I have a book called "Encyclopedia of Science Fiction" which has a good few of his sf covers and illustrations.
