In one Camo.
Damn you lot are good.
Eviljoe, I think you may be giving yourself away here. The URL caption is indeed 'Bicycle Thief' (although how you got that I don't know because I cunningly saved the image into my Flickr account) but any true film buff would have correctly identified it as 'Bicycle Thieves'
Tell me is it possible you can google search an image? ๐ฏ
no point keeping score.... would require too much effort and i'm personally enjoying checking the thread every now and then for a quick guess ๐
good for making note of some film recommendations too!
Damn you lot are good.
It's Mrs 16's favourite movie...

lol, I think I am going to start sticking in a post, immediately after any picture and then when you post the answer I shall retroactively edit my post to make it look like I beat you... every ... single.... time....
truly wonderful book.
and pertinent.
Geetee- no, I just misremembered it that's all! First film showing on my uni course in 1995- double bill with Pulp Fiction... I don't have anything like that technical prowess.
Blimey, saving images to our flickr accounts??? This is getting serious!!
Organic: Sucker Punch?
Torm: Modern Hero or something... Super!
Cabinet of Dr caligari - key film of the German expressionist movement
Geetee - I recognize the shot, but cant remember for the life of me what its from? 1920's ish? Horror film?
Titanic? ๐
Torm - that's Battleship Potemkin
EDIT: that was Battleship Potemkin... where's it gone?
LOL at Torm.
I was just googling 'Battleship Potempkin' myself.
Damn you Eviljoe! You clearly stayed awake during the German Neo Expressionism lecture!
EDIT - I hate you all! ๐ฟ
Battleship Potemkin above?
that was Battleship Potemkin... where's it gone?
I realised answer was in the URL so went to find a better pic.
Aha! Now see I got that one completely off my own back!
Mine was indeed The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Torminalis - Memberand pertinent.
Very.
The one and only book where I have read the last few lines and stopped in my tracks...

Funny, did the same to me. Sticks in you like a knife. Interestingly, the last lines are supposed to represent humanity and hope. It didn't feel like anything other than piteous desperation to me.
Portly one- Cube?
'The Cars That Ate Paris' I reckon but not sure...
Geetee- The Hidden Fortress?
Nice one Torminalis ๐
Eviljoe - like I said, was always going to be easy to guess, but no. It's one of his other ones.

To me it represented the indefatigability of life and the ability to adjust to circumstances. In a way the story is very similar to Midnight Express in that the characters continue to adapt to the ever-decreasing circle that is their situation (although with more hope than (Michael?) in the latter).
bedsittingroom indeedmrsconsequence didnt understand it
Wasn't it about a post nuclear world where the main character mutates into a bed sitting room?
I am guessing Kurosawa, pre 1970, hmnn.. which one...
The one that's been remade at least three times since...
Yojimbo?
