Funny, did the same to me. Sticks in you like a knife. Interestingly, the last lines are supposed to represent humanity and hope. It didn't feel like anything other than piteous desperation to me.

OK, still art house but a little more action in this one:

[img] [/img]

Guessing is one thing, but there are multiple films it could be so points will only be awarded if you truly know which one it is.

To me it represented the indefatigability of life and the ability to adjust to circumstances. In a way the story is very similar to Midnight Express in that the characters continue to adapt to the ever-decreasing circle that is their situation (although with more hope than (Michael?) in the latter).

Wasn't it about a post nuclear world where the main character mutates into a bed sitting room?

No Evil was, as usual, right. It is Yojimbo.

I haven't seen it but I'm going to guess that whatnobeer's film is the one made about Toshiro Mifune's life?

Evil - you're now barred from the contest. Yes it was Breathless.

Is there any film you haven't seen?

😳

cant help but think we're alienating the average STW reader.... xmas films and cult classics fo teh winz (and so i can start guessing again)

and another idea, this might be better next week if stipulated at the beginning of the thread, could be to put our own rating out of ten. good way of reccomending good films but without having to give the plot away 😀

No, I recognised the picture. An old Spanish film, the title being a bit of a give away, no?
How's the little 'un?

geetee's one at the top is (better known for Highlander methinks) Christophe Lambert in 'Subway'. Features Jean Reno on incredibly bad drums, fact fans. I know I haven't got a clue about the last one but since no one else named Subway, I think I still deserve a go:

Also features Jean Reno (but not in this picture of course):

She is fine at the moment - the sweat test postponed until next week (due to another simple op that we had to get done). I keep swinging from blind panic to thinking it is all in my head and she is perfectly fine. Thanks for asking though 🙂

Oh and Torminalis' one on the last page is Nuts in May, n'est-ce pas?

geetee1972 - Member

Catch 22

Nope. Saying it is both directed by Luc Besson and features Jean Reno doesn't really narrow it down that much does it? Joined at the hip in the 80's, them two. 😆

geetee1972 - Member

Le Dernier Combat.

Good edit and correct! 😀

Resilient little buggers though, but I guess not a good time of year either for all of this, as you say she'll be fine.

Top film Hardware.Got the 2000ad future shock it's based on and who wouldn't get in a taxi with Lemmy?
PIL and Gwar on the soundtrack.
Current issue dvd has some good extras with a short called children of the moon,a documentary about the Soviet rout in Afghanistan 20 something years ago.
