Way off-topic, but I'm hoping the STW colective can answer a couple of turfing questions.
As it's Autumn I thought it would be a good time of year to returf the front garden...it used to be a nasty paved area. So, I've got rid of all weeds/debris, I've top soiled and got a pre turf fertiliser ready for turfing. Except I've no idea what to buy.
It's a north facing garden, open and well drained. Only concern is during nov-april the sun will be low and the garden will be in the shade of the house for the majority of winter. Oh, and it's Glasgow, so not a great deal of sun anyway!
Just from having a quick look it would seem the more shade tolerant a grass is, the more maintenance is required and the more expensive it is. Would it be possible to buy a cheaper quality turf and reseed with the shade tolerant stuff later? Or just go for the pricey turf?

Interesting....What happens when the dog takes a sh1t on it?
