The Stuxnet worm is capable of seizing control of industrial plants.
Some Western experts say its complexity suggests it could only have been created by a "nation state".
Wonder what nation might have tried to pull that stunt. I fear it's not that long a list.
Well don't forget, this worm targets all SCADA systems, not just those in Iran. So that'll be all critical national infrastructure management systems made by Seimens systems, all over the world, including the US. Although granted, Iran has seen far more incidences of the virus than anywhere else.
Worse yet, is that the certificate used to sign the malicious code is the same certificate used to sign code in just about every single embedded code device on the planet. This week power stations, next who knows....
Keep an eye on your washing machine.
OMG! Skynet is coming 😯
Interesting - especially for those of us who work in the power industry. Once someone's come up with the idea, the genii is out of the bottle. It took a nation state (perhaps) to do it the first time, but someone in a shed will be able to do something similar in 6 months. And the chaos you could cause with a suitable deployment of that sort of malware or malware using some of the ideas within it doesn't bear thinking about - but if you must, start with electricity grids, air traffic control systems, railway signals; lots of things we used to think of as secure systems.
Keep an eye on your washing machine.
She's lying on the sofa. I'm 99% sure she's not a robot, but I will watch out for any software glitches.
Do I need to tell my washing machine not to visit 'certain types' of websites?
Well the filth that my washing machine sees, it wouldn't surprise me... 🙄
I guess it should only visit 'clean' sites.
Quite interesting, should keep Breakfast Time and the Daily mail busy for a few days.
