How do I remove an App from my iphone?

I have the Met office app but, It hasn't worked for weeks. When I try to open the app all I get is a message that say's "Error occured while performing operation" underneath the message it say's OK. If I take this option it just takes me to the Met Office home screen. The maps & data seem to work but, not the weather option.

Any ideas?

Cheers for any help.

If it's a 4, do you know how to find apps running in the background? They can accumulate and hog memory after a while.

CountZero. Push the 'home' button twice quickly, bar appears at the bottom with all open apps on it. Hold finger on one to get them to wobble - 'delete' all that you want to close.
