Once again, I pinged off the little black visor thing on my arai helmet today. I can't seem to find them as spares online. Now I've got 2 visors with missing locks in an otherwise useable condition.
It seems like a weak design. I might try a different helmet manufacturer next time.
Find the Arai tent at a local bike shop. I have a shoei head, but I know Arai do repairs if you can find them.
Worst design ever.
Stupid, noisy and weak.
There's a reason they fix them FoC at events!
My 2 Dainese never gave me an issue and the 3 Schuberths are without a doubt the best helmets I've had in over 35yrs of riding.
Just for balance.... Arai UK offered to post some replacements demist tabs out FOC after contacting them on FB.
Buy a Shoei.
The wee thing at the bottom to clamp the visor shut? I had no idea anyone actually uses that.
Always found Arai customer service really good tbh... I decided to replace a hammered old Arai (can't remember the model) with an Astro R and then just for lolz sent the old one in for testing. it came back not just with a certificate of approval, which surprised me, but cleaned inside and out, with a new strap and all the removable pads replaced, and the paintwork nicely touched up. All for free. OTOH I'd already replaced it because I thought it was dead so that was all a bit wasted but still, good chaps.
