He has to think of three words that sound like they end in 'shun' but DONT end in -tion, -sion or cian? I suspect the word 'shun' doesn't count...

Can I ask why you're doing your son's homework? Surely the idea is it's his homework?

Lady gresley, he asked me for help as he was stumped, he now knows what a crustacean is, what a falchion is, and, most importantly, what a stanchion is. As well as that he knows that it's the FONT of all knowledge (obviously) not the fountain. Fortunately he didn't ask what FFS stands for, there's some education that can wait! (Unless he knows that already, he lives in Hartlepool, so it's entirely possible!!!).
Edit...And escutcheon!

Asian.

Pigeon?

Fortunately he didn't ask what FFS stands for,

It's sort of when you breath out through your teeth in an exasperated manner, isn't it? A longer one might be PFFFSSSSSH.

The only thing I'd add is to make he knows the definitions of the words. As a teacher I get annoyed when kids have either copied and pasted from the internet or have had parent's help, but have no idea what they've actually written down. At least turn it into a learning experience.
