My new stove should arrive tomorrow, I'm going to fit a top exit flue pipe with a 90 degree bend. I will need to make one cut to a pipe to get it to fit.

What is the best way to cut an enamelled stove pipe?

Not as funky as the last one but more output.

I've used a thin cutting disk on an angle grinder for ours but it wasn't enamelled. Maybe wrap it in draught tape before cutting to stop the enamel chipping. Even if it does chip either end of the pipe will be hidden anyway so you should be OK anyway.

Do you mean a 45 deg bend? Thought 90 deg bends were a big no no.

New blade in hacksaw.
Not sure i would use a grinder unless I could hold the pipe in a clamp

I never questioned that, the wholesaler was happy to sell me it, it has an access point though.

AFAIK Its AGA's that are limited to a 45deg bend

You have to use a 90 degree bend for rear flue stoves. You are limited to a 150mm horizontal section though.

Edit: Looks nice that McM.

It's a 150mm pipe so I should be ok.

I had hoped to go for another funky 50's style stove but they had gone up in price, this was the highest output freestanding one within my budget. I liked the build quality and efficiency of the Dovre so thought I would stick with them. I got a good deal off the RRP which makes it a little sweeter.

Our Aga is solid fuel, the flue goes horizontally out the back, its prone to sooting up. We need to clean it out every month and a half.

The stove I'm replacing has an eight inch pipe with a 90 degree bend, I've never had an issue with it.

I did this. On advice I wrapped the pipe in masking tape and cut with an angle grinder, taking my time and going carefully. Nice job.
