We're heading to France next week for a few days and will be getting the late afternoon ferry. Does anyone have an suggestions for a decent overnight stop. Ideally cheapish hotel and somewhere nice to get dinner.

Have a look at Le Crotoy or Saint-Valery-sur-Somme
both are lovely family holiday resorts with lots of bars, cafes, restaurants etc. (the sort of thing that the French do so well)

Partly for the amusement factor that the menu never changes, even the specials on the blackboard.
We each order the same thing every year.
This year we went twice, once on the way and once in the way back
It isn't aw some, but we love it
