I've got the option with work to move out to Stockholm indefinitely, I've spent a few years living in Copenhagen so know a little of the Nordic way of doing things but has anyone out there lived there?

Interested in how the locals are with expats, general city life and if there's any good riding to be had in the woods that surround the city.

Thanks!

Ive also probably condemned this thread to mod death - if so I apologise but it had to be done.

I hear it's full of highjackers and kidnappers which will probably become your best mate.

Sorry, I have nothing serious to offer.

Very expensive for flats but a lovely place spent a week on Kungsholmen last summer. Most Swedes think of it as most people think of London.

I lived there for 6 months but that was 16 years ago

In the summer it's great, lots going on. Winter not so great, cold, dark.

Its not that expensive for a capital city in northern europe

Small enough to bump into people you know when around town

Very social and family orientated, much like Copenhagen I imagine

Despite the video above I found the night life a little conformist, stiff, and dull.

Didn't do any riding but land access is not an issue as open access is 'everymans right'

Anyway, that was 16 years ago as I say.
