Pigface- think of it at goth meets bladerunner in the victorian era and that's about it really. Came from william gibsons cyberpunk books mixed with bruce sterling to make the book "the difference engine". Also jules vern etc..

OK you lot, if you're liking this check out Warehouse 13 on Sci-Fi HD on Thursdays. (Other Sci-Fi channels and evenings are available). There is loads of steampunk hardware on here, with those lovely keyboards coupled with LED monitors in wood surrounds, door security locks using old rotary phone dials and nixie tube displays, all set around the warehouse from the end of Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Plus it's very funny. My new favouritest programme.

Tankslapper - yeah! One day I will have a study in a house with a pair of big green comfy leather armchairs (the ones with wings) wall to wall shelves full of books, a round table with a big old globe, nice lighting and a desk with a PC like that on it. One day.... 😀
It all just makes me think of "Wild Wild West" - that awful Will Smith film.

Best example of steam punk are steam boy from otoro, and the castle in the sky/owl'w walking castle from myasaki.
