shortcrust for me - i think puff is healthier though if that bothers you.

Puff reminds me of bar meals in those little dishes.

Drink the beer and make a steak pie.

1 - Puff, only because it's easier and I've never bothered to learn making my own.

2 - Homebrew normally, but Old Peculiar if I had to choose.

Last nights was Puff and Bombardier, with a teaspoon of English Mustard. Damn fine it was if I say so myself.

No way summer lightning. you need a right dark beer for this job, old pecuilar is ideal

Shortcrust and a good dark ale, of your three I'd go with Old Perculiar, with a spoon of mustard and served with horseradish mash please,

Oh and just out of interest ton when will it be ready and what time should I pop in?

Short crust and Old Peculiar. Can't stan flaky pastry it just crumbles to nothing.

Shortcrust & Old Peculiar here too. Can't be doing with the pastry exploding all over the place when you put your fork in.

You have made feel very hungry all of a sudden 👿

Short and peculiar.

Puff pastry is pointless (may as well use a doily) and the other beers are too light.

+1 for short and Old Pec. Puff is just a stew with a texture-less lid on top.

APF

PS I love pie 🙂

Shortcrust base and puff top for the pie (bit of both you see)

Old Peculiar is the only one out of those for Steak IMO

I'd go for a suet pudding over the pastry and Dark ale. Served with cheddar mash.

1. Puff

2. as long as it's decent quality, makes no difference.

Nowhere near enough innuendo in your post for that Ton.

But at least I remember now why I'm having steak and ale pie washed down with ale for tea.
