Just be grateful it's not Paris where beer is €9/10 a pint

Honestly this. Don't be ashamed of doing non alcholic sightseeing during the day either. Nothing heroic about drinking yourself into oblivion at your age, us oldies have been and done that years ago 😆

If there's any possibility of comeback, make sure you have some plans to visit things at 10am.

Have fun dragging them out of bed to get early morning whisky /Guinness tasting in...

What's age got to do with it ..?
60 is the new 40 ..
As for going bankrupt if you are funding the trip ..quite possibly.
Why don't you register yourself as a charity and start a Just Giving page ..

Just avoid the Temple Bar area and you (and your bank account) should survive! Overpriced tourist trap that every stag party seems to end up in.

There's no way I'd be doing that! Not with his mates & the way they knock it back. Theyre either farmers or rugby players (or farmers that play rugby)
Any good ideas for non drinking time?

Depends on what you like, found the coast path down at Bray a nice way to while away some time. Or could do the touristy Guiness and Jamesons tours??? Could go to the Zoo??
