Not a totally bad idea, if it was designed without the pivot holes through the bars then it could be quite good. I would perhaps use some on a commuter/shopper bike

My hooligan hardtail Inbred actually has canti-brake braze-on fittings on the seat-stays! They were mistakenly left on the spec sheet for the frame builders!
It became something of a topic of conversation I was having with a couple of blokes in town last week, who recognised it despite the lack of paint or decals, both having come from the land of On-One, and being previous owners. 🙃

You can see them here, I put stainless steel bolts in, to keep water out, the brake hose runs over the top…

"Handlebar length: 580mm, Handlebar size: 22.2mm, Horizontal riser specification: 25.4mm

Better comfort, suitable for mountain bikes, BMX, downhill bikes, etc."

🤣

even if you give them the extended benefit of the doubt that "mountain bike" (and "BMX") in their parlance includes your shoddy low end department store/halfords specials used around town rather than how we on this website see them...

there can be no possible ambiguity on what "downhill bike" means.

Anybody with a good lawyer, an even better dentist, and a high pain tolerance want to give them a go in search of a big payout?

They’re so narrow in the first place you lose about 10cms by folding them 😂 Other wise can see them being handy for getting the bike in the boot. But then again, so would forks with 100mm or less travel and smaller wheels… I’m oot!

Inverted drop bars would be more suitable for BMX than those!

Christ no! I wouldn’t trust them to the bottom of my road! Parts of me are hurting just looking at the pictures. 🫣😖

Copy and pasted the wrong description of course but still.

Shame, it might ruin Amazons reputation for selling top quality stuff.
