I've been subscribed for a couple of months now, in some ways I think it's really good. I access it from two locations, one is fine, the other (home) the steaming does not work nearly well enough, even though our broadband connection is fine. I get constant dropouts, and offline playlists take forever to do download. I raised a call to their tech support, did not really get anywhere with fixing it.

Lots of other people appear to have problems, but I dunno how representative they are of total numbers, so my question is 'how is it for you?'

can't comment on your premium services, but generally at work or home - very good.

Fine here.

Try pingtest.net to see if the issue is with the quality of your connection (as opposed to the speed).

You should be getting 0% packet loss and jitter should be a small %age of the ping time.

Thanks for the link to the quality test, I get 'A' for line quality and 42/3ms for Ping/Jitter, which I think is OK. iPlayer streams video without a problem, but Spotify seams to have issues. It's a real shame, becuase I have got into loads of good music through Spotify, but I can't stand the dropouts.

What about packet loss? Anything above 0% could be an issue.

Packet loss was 0, although I just retried and the line quality was down to 'B'

Perfect here. I'd talk to your broadband provider as some do limit streaming access at busy times...

I'm not a premium member but I find Spotify to be a bit temperamental, especially in the evening. My internet connection seems fine otherwise.

I'm not premium, and I get good streaming speeds on and off-peak, but spotify is unlistenable in my house - constantly stopping and starting and destroys music - stopped using it.

Yeah, it's funny, I work away and the house I stay in midweek has a pretty slow internet connection, but Spotify works like a dream.

At work its fine but at home in the evenings its now unusable. I think its because our broadband speed gets choked down as users come on line in the evening. Streaming is all very well but it won't be the future until there's near universal high speed broadband

Funny, I've reverted back to free and listening now, it works fine!(think it's lower quality (less bandwidth needed) when it's free)

Non-premium, but the quality has been consistently pretty good.

I could be wrong but I think spotify doesn't always stream when you listen to something you've already downloaded. It saves it on your hard drive in AppData/Local/Spotify (on a Vista PC).
Hence sometimes it may be ok (if you've already downloaded it) but then be poor if it's a new track.
Are you seeing poor play back with 'new' or 'old' tracks?
