I have never really understood this award. Is it for "personality" e.g. the most charismatic and interesting person of the year ??
Or is it really Sports Person of the year, whoever is the most popular, and just badly named ??
Does seem odd there are no women. Are there any gays or people of non-white ethnic origin ? Any Welsh ?(sorry I have limited interests and am allergic to soccer so haven't heard of half of them)
Alastair Cook for me - he had a fantastic summer and pretty much single-handedly won us the summer.
