any one else watching?
Wonderful images and tales of some truly great escapades by some heroic men and women
I never tire of listening to them and about them
it's a shame that the heroics of bomber command don't get the same coverage - not as PC I guess?
What a beautiful thing a Spitfire is...
Per ardua ad astra.
Coincidentally I'm just drinking a Spitfire. The bottle of Britain
Yes, amazing programme.
My dad was a radio operator in a welly bomber out of Binbrook during the war
he reckoned the Spitfire boys were a bunch of prima donnas that sat around all day while everyone else was busy working 🙂
Many many moons ago, like in 1981, The Strathallan Collection of historic aircraft was sold off by Coys.
The auctioneer flew himself in.
In his own Spitfire !
Pure class !
Still have my sale catalogue.

Glass very much raised.
I worry about some of these programs and the true validity of this legend of the Spitfire - but then I see one and more importantly here one and I can feel the pride rising and the sound sets my whole body alight with excitement.
Adrenaline and pride is a dangerous, but heady and powerful, concoction 8)
Glass very much raised
thank you
I think they fly Tornados out of Lossiemouth now - he'd have loved that
John Sergeant is actually Jo Brand, isn't he?
they cannot exist in the same place at the same time - space/time continuum and all that..
Sir William Walton pretty much nailed it.
