A bill under consideration in the Mount Rushmore State would make preventing harm to a fetus a "justifiable homicide" in many cases.

There's a difference between "a bill under consideration" and a law being passed. Also remember that although America seems quite familiar from all those films and tv programmes once you get outside of the large metro areas it's actually very different - there's people who live there that almost certainly speak English as she was spoke 250 years ago for a start.
Yeah.. am familiar with rural US.. still though, it does come across as a wee bit fundamentalist/taliban-like..

that sounds a bit sinister at the best of times... it must be downright terrifying when said by a nutcase pointing a gun at your head.

Interesting story, though the headline doesn't tell the whole tale. Outside of the abortion clinic scenario, the intention of the law almost sounds rational. ๐
I used to date a US lass who's sister had to move away from her 'hometown' because she and the father chose not to have their baby boy's genitals mutilated. The girl was a doctor and knew better. The whole town shunned her, she was ignored, spat at, people wouldn't serve her in shops. It's a scary country for sure.

Are you talking about circumcision?
