[#2521413]

Heading to the lakes this weekend just for 1 night with the missus. Not biking, just a little break from Manc.

I've had a quick look on laterooms.com but most seem to be a 2 night minmum stay so does anyone have any recommendations?

Haven't really considered where abouts in the lakes yet so open to ideas and all we need is somewhere with a pub/food in walking distance.

Thanks

So I'm likely to find that all of them have different policies on the phone compared to their online booking system am I?

Or am I going to waste a lot of my time drawing up a short list of places to phone only for them all to say, no sorry, 2 night minimum?

Yeah they'll take one night bookies, find a nice one email them or call them. Say you've seen the price on such and such a site but you only want one night. As they're not paying a commission out to the site they'll match the price.

Very nice place, and the owner is a nice old lady who cooks a massive breakfast in the morning.

This place is absolutely lovely. Stayed there a few times

lovely rooms. Cartmel is a nice quiet little place (unlesss its race day, then its mental!!!) The food in the restaurant is top notch. All local stuff. Great wine list. Big hearty full breaky in the morning. And there are another two pubs within strolling distance should you fancy a wander.

Whats not to like?
