I'm dropping someone off at Preston station tomorrow on the way south from Scotland to London, have some friends staying in Rochdale at the minute so could plan to hook up with them afterwards
Wheres a nice, easy to find (and park) destination between Preston and Rochdale for coffee and snacks and chatter. (rendezvous is around 3.30pm)

There's an outlet shopping place jut off Jcn 8 on the M61
Bound to be somewhere to get a coffee, no idea what it's like though

The John Gilbert is easily accessible from the M62 - good for them coming from Rochdale, good for you coming down the M61 and the back onto the M6 afterward
I only know of it from friends going, never been myself

Go to wine press at Littlebrouugh near Dale. Just off the m62
