...need to think what effect a group of adults running towards a 2yr old kid who has just hurt themselves and surrounding them and trying to stand them up will have on that kid.

My 2yr old managed to hit a bin today while he was sledging. He was lying there not crying just shouting at me to come and get him because his legs was sore. Next thing I know he is surrounded by a group of adults all trying to stand him up and he is screaming because not only is he in pain but he is petrified because he knows none of these people.

I get to him and they are all being a bit on the judgmental side just as you'd expect. Checked him over, found pain in his left leg, he one the nice people had been trying to stand him on, took him to the sick kids hospital and it turns out he's broken his leg.

Moral of the story, well there are two of them: If you see kids that aren't yours have a wee bit of a spill dont run towards them and scare the living crap out of them. And whatever you do, dont try and stand them up unless you know what you're doing and assessed them, you might be doing more damage.

And instead of being judgmental and standing there tutting, get your kids to have a bit of adventurous play in their lives, it'll make them more able to calculate risks when they're older.

The boy has taken to his full leg cast already and it doesnt seem to be slowing him down too much.

Good lad.
