I sold my car on Gumtree last week (10 year old Jeep) - all was fine and the buyer was happy and paid cash.

He phoned me over the weekend with a couple of minor questions - all fine - and he said he was really enjoying the car.

Today I get a text asking if I can meet him at the weekend.

Good news or bad? Should I meet him, or make it clear it was sold-as-seen?
Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Nick

Could have been a mistake, ignore for now, if not ask what it's about.

talk on phone and find out what it's about - no way I'd go and meet someone 'blind' like that.

Good news or bad?

I would say it's pretty unlikley to be good news. As above call the buyer and find out why he wants to meet. Maybe he's got the hots for you.

Unless he's become your mate in the mean time what does he want to meet up for?
Youve done enough taking his call at the weekend. As you say its "sold as seen" move on.

Tell him you're going to do Missionary work in the jungle for six months!

I'm assuming from your username that you're not really called Dave, or are you?

Ignore him, he'll go away.

You have no reason to speak to him or keep communicating.
