So, where can I go ...

[Closed] So, where can I go on summer holiday this year with the family, not the bike?

Dawned on me the other day this is the last chance for a summer holiday outside of school holidays for a few years (I know you can take kids out of school, but I'd rather not).
So, we fancy some early summer sunshine, late-may, early-june time.
In a perfect world, we'd be in a little villa, just the 3 of us (me, wife and 4-year old boy). In beautiful countryside, with its own pool and a few mintues walk to the quiet sandy beach, and at most, a short drive to the nearest village which would have enough shops to keep us going for a week or 2.

Any recomendations for locations/holiday companies/actual villas?

How deep are your pockets? This place is in Ventor, IoW. Looks lovely, but expensive!

that kind of thing looks spot-on, but I was thinking a little further south (ie the Med)

Try holiday-rentals.co.uk and filter for "pool", "near beach" etc for some inspiration. Also ownersdirect.co.uk and vrbo are also worth looking at once you know roughly where you fancy - north coast of the Balearics, Costa de la Luz, a greek island?

I have a villa with private pool (heated as May can still be a bit chilly). PM me for the holiday-rentals link, I'd go for June as it is pretty much certain to be hot, May can be a bit chilly in mid Spain where I am.

Its nice, private pool, wifi, 3 bedrooms, unoverlooked big terraces, no steps (all on 1 level), air con, english tv.

Local bike shop has spesh 29er for hire 15e per day.

No specific villa recommendations but second ownersdirect website. We're on our third year booking somewhere direct and they've all been excellent.

The view last night 🙂

the problem is, we've no idea where to go in the world.
Fancy southern Sardinia, or a Greek island, or who knows where.
Ideally a direct flight from Newcastle, and if we can avoid hiring a car to save a few quid it'd be good. Maybe even something like a Eurocamp affair, though preferably a little more laid back.
Hmm, cheers for suggestions so far. I'll have a look at Ownersdirect etc later.

Fancy southern Sardinia,

I thought the north of the island was much nicer when I travelled around there. Santa Theresa, Alghero and Oristano, lovely places.

Try a Neilson holiday. Stacks of top quality activities, people to look after the nippers if you both want to go for a bike ride, sail, tennis match, waterski, windsurf at the same time and a bunch of like-minded interesting guests to spend time with.
