If he has just given up bread then yes.

If he is dropping bread to limit carbs then not really.

If he is swaps bread for pizza then he may as well eat bread.

If this is giving up bread for lent then he definitely cannot have pizza.

Bread includes all bread like products. Pancakes are also excluded.

No excuses, it's a bread base so pizza is not on the menu. Rules are rules!!
