The GF, soon to be wife, has got herself a place in the Aussie cops in Adelaide and I'm over the moon to be moving there in March next year. The location she'll be based is likely to be a metro posting so around the Adelaide suburbs and city centre.
I've been reading a fair few websites and forums and in the main all looks great.
I'm happy to deal with spiders and the bugs after learning lots about them but I wanted to find out about the biking and social activities that happen there.
Im still expecting the day to day grind of work etc (construction based) but was hoping some off here could shed light on where to live and provide any information on the process of emigration.
We're on a sponsored visa so should be ok on that front but the costs of shipping household goods such as sofas and tv's etc is confusing.
Have any of you had any experience with emigration and what did you do to smooth the process out?
We are looking at renting for the first few months and have the potential to crash on an old friends sofa for a night or two.
Should we get a Hotel for a week or so till we find a decent rental? or should we get a longer term holiday let till we know where the GF will be officially based after training?
