MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Relax infront of a festive film? Few nice drinks in front of the fire? Play some games with the kids? Ride out somewhere with friends and hip flasks?
Fat chance, cleaning, washing, tidying, preparing, more cleaning, washing, tidying, going to Sainsbury's for the inevitable thing that's been forgotten / lost / broken. More cleaning, washing, tidying and going to the Co-op round the corner for that 'OH MY GOD WE HAVEN'T GOT A' item.
Can't wait 🙁
All be worth it tomorrow though
Happy Christmas everyone!
at work.....
To be fair, being at work would have been a lot easier for me! Can't really leave Mrs Feet to sort it all out!
^^ 🙁
Bike shop for a cuppa and a chat
Wine shop for my favourite bottle of red
Making large chilli for when riding mates come over after xmas
Embarrass 11 and 13 year old children as much as possible
Ignore aged relatives
Declare it wine o'clock at say 2pm and go hide in mancave with bike dvds until dinner
After that all bets are off unless someone suggests party games in which case it'll be like a herefordshire re-enaction of 'falling down'
Don't really like xmas much. But do like being off work with kids/wife. Shame about the rest of the family 😉
Alternator packed up in the car on saturday and it is now stuck 30 miles from my home at a mates farm, can't get a new replacement till friday - arse!. I still have most of my xmas shopping to do so the above mate let me borrow his other car so i'm just about to head off to Glasgow now....not looking forward to the crowds as i planned to sit on front of my new log burning stove t'day (it's stw? - everyone owns one....don't they?) whilst quoffing champagne and munching on home made mice pies fae my mum.
Humph!......
Must get out to clean bike (and check hubs)after yesterdays flood cycle outing over the hills. Still a couple of things to pick up,family arriving later ,then we are all going out to see The Hobbit, followed by a meal.At the moment ,listening to the John Peel lecture and explaining to youngest why mix tapes used to be such a big deal for me and his mum.
Good vibes and a Happy Christmas to you interweb folk 🙂
Off to the butchers, the grocers, the cheesery and the wine merchants soon. Nothing else left to do. Just downloading lego Harry potter onto the mac for my kids to play on. This arvo it's a walk into town along the beach to meet friends and then off to the cinema early evening.
.. at work
Between nights
At work
Popped into the supermarket for a couple of last minute bits @ 7 this morning, in work by 7.30 so should be out of here by lunchtime(ish). 🙂
About to head off to work 10-2200 finish if I'm lucky, then heading to GF parents house for nibbles/present opening at midnight.
Back into work tomorrow for same. Merry Christmas everyone 😀
Walked the dog down to the butchers to collect a piece of cow
wifes working
just off out to collect Freddy the newish grandson and going to be looking after him for the first time
just a bit nervous
then vaccuming and cleaning for when mrs T comes home
so probably be knackerd by tea time .
At work until 5. Off until the 7th Jan after that so not really complaining though.
At work until 2.00, going out on bike after. Mrs Oggy is spending the day getting stuff ready and wants no involvement from me, not in any way, shape or form, , which is probably best for the health of our marriage as shes all worked up about it! my only involvement today was getting dragged kicking and screaming to Tesco at 7.00 am and it was heaving , so God only knows what it'll be like later!
Waiting for the people from Thames Water to come and unblock my drains... it'll be a pretty crappy Christmas if they don't!
Strangely they blocked on Christmas Eve a few years ago, though that time I had to clear them myself after an afternoon in the pub.
Working which isn't a problem, however the fact that some bright spark thought it would be a great idea to give half the drivers the day off. Cue lots of orders all over the country that need delivering as they placed them last night! Hopefully I won't need to go driving to some godforsaken part of the country, I'm quite happily helping out the woefully understaffed and snowed under accounts department 🙂
Making mince pies and mulled wine with my gf this afternoon, meeting friends for drinks and going to see the Hobbit this eve.
Merry Christmas all!
All sorted here, a bit of R&R in my man-cave while the OH is out (horse)riding and she's picking up the Turkey from the Butcher on the way back.
Probably think about wrapping the presents later...
We're all off for a walk in the rain to see the raging torrent that is the River Frome 8)
At work...dont think I'll last long though. Commuted in on the MTB rather than the road bike...planning on a early escape and get a wee sneeky loop in before the mandatory evening xmas carol service and gastronomic explosion of food!
The kids are already at 50,000 feet...not helped by Gramps winding them up further. I suggested this morning we set ourselves a 'wee' challenge for tonight...can we get one of the kids to pee themselves with excitment! Mrs Rossco isnt amused 😆
Have a good one!
I'm at work... Made it out on the bike last night, which looks like it was a good move as it's lashing down here 😥 (Hereford / South Shropshire)
Will be on the mulled cider and then in the pub tonight though 😀
It's apocalyptic here in Bristol. I'm staying in doing the braised cabbage for tomorrow and packing for our trip to the mother-in-law's.
Prep'ing veg, dressing turkey ready for oven, sorting Christmas Eve curry. About to go for a family stroll then countdown to beer o'clock.
Last Christmas my little lad will believe in Santa so making the most of the last time we'll need to stealth round the house planting pressies and the like.
Happy Christmas all.
Well, caught the 0645 tube from Shiny Town to London Bridge and found both a seat and room to breath. At LB I collected my usual double shot Cappuccino from Nero and headed, leaden footed, to platform 5 where the world was waiting with suitcases packed in anticipation of Flights to Exotica. An unusually warm carriage and legroom awaited and settled into iPadworld. Connection to 3’s network doing it’s normal annoyance routine of frozen screens and intermittent access which blighted my enjoyment of catching up with family and the great and the good of STW. “Rambled On” through the fresh air of the Downs and arrived in sprightly mood through the locked gates of remote access and hot desk wondermentworld*
Sauntered gingerly to the restaurant where I gazed in amazement at the sight of a 9 tier pyramid of Sausages and just out of the oven warm rolls. Fiddled to cram 3 healthy fat dripping fingers of meat into a roughly torn roll and grabbed a very large Tea then sauntered down stairs to hot desk lottery hell.
Three steps in and craning neck to spot “other folk” and found no one. Met with the prospect of a 200 seat office and “only me” I wondered, loudly, what the hell I was doing here and why the heck did I not book the sodding day off.
Whilst wiping the fat from my chin I heard the footsteps of another lost soul “heres free” I offered, and began the mild introductions and welcomes to wondermentworld*.
Logged on and found I still have access to the Internet I slammed open STW and Google and began to settle into last day before gorge yourself stupid day.. Found some old photos of aging Rock Stars and entered the world of Variety and Angst that is STW.
*Work
Weirdly, the Swedes celebrate Xmas on Xmas eve. As a Brit living here the last 6 years I'm still not used to it! kids were up at the crack of dawn, presents have been opened and we're just about to go out sledging before the afternoon of eating and drinking commences!
doom mountain wins. what it is to be young.
It's midday and I'm off to Waitrose...
Been working today and now packing for an 11:30pm flight to Heathrow, Merry Xmas...

you dont have a cleaner or a wife then, how working class.
Update: I have now been told to stop helping out round the house as I'm 'doing it all wrong'. Apparently I shouldn't be using 'that cloth' to clean 'that windowsill' and I shouldn't be using the 'multi-suface cleaner' to clean 'that surface'. 🙄
So, I give up. Glass of port anyone?
The old balls up the job so you dont get asked again routine 🙂
Just finished building my 2 year old's 'boy shed' in the garden (Chrimbo pressie). Looks pretty good! Few bits of cleaning, now sat in front of the telly after getting the fire going with a coffee and a few peanuts.
Bike still needs a clean from Fridays mudfest ride, so might sort that this arvo before my sister and her dog come to stay for a few days.
Oh, also had to sort a leak from the dishwasher this morning, the inlet hose had a load of limescale on the washers, meaning it'd been dripping for some time! Nice!
Beer O'clock incoming!
In work and arguing with ex-wife.
Ho ****ing ho.
We're going ice skating!!! Please please no a and e
We're going ice skating!!! Please please no a and e
Just got back from the states, don't know whether I need a shit, shave or haircut. Can't get used to the horrible weather, have to go and buy batteries, but can't remember which toy needs what (everything got wrapped before we went on holiday), then a trip to the supermarket to pick up last minute 'essentials' - happy days!
Been to the butchers, now doing dishes and getting pissed off with Mrs B as she is unable to wrap presents on her own.
So I've just created a login for Road.cc, MrsBouys been collecting a couple of things we forgot yesterday and texted the words..
**Shiny Towns mentally full, all Carparks are full and they're turning folks away**
Since I have to go through CW to get home I'm going to revel in the chaos that is Xmas Eve in That London.
Off to catch the train..
Poot Poot.
Hoovered eveything and tidied up again, (parents arriving in an hour).
Finally, I've decanted the Christmas Port (26yo Taylors) using a Buff - an amazing variety of uses those things. Of course I've tried a bit to make sure its not off. 😀
Of for sh*t, then its settle into Father Jack mode for two days*
*in my dreams with a 3.9yo and a 3 month yo
Happt Christmas all.
Back from wine shop, butchers, cheesery and grocers. Kids are playing games on the mac, food for tomorrow is prepped, house is tidy and it is now ten past beer o'clock. Merry Christmas to you all.
hmmm hmmm got up at 9, took kid and hound down beach 4 slow walk, shop on way back for some soup n rolls, ended up spending £100 on wine, vodka, chocs n red bulls n fancy cakes, not sure that was a good move ?
soup gone think i will retreat to loft and thro on some tunes and paint canvas with kid, wife and older brat home in 6 hours, tomorrows meal their department, oh the sting of 14 days off , no time to ride and bored shitless already................... 8)
Some STW sourced parts arrived so I have started tending to the poorly bike...
Mrs Dancake is finishing off the shopping and Dancake JnR is helping out with the bike/ running round being a pirate/
Off out to buy a gear cable inner and some booze for tomorrow.
Cant have a drink today, driving tonight...
im feeling fatter everyday ......................
it'll be like a herefordshire re-enaction of 'falling down'
!! Brilliant 😀 😀 😀
I'm at my Mum's but we've kind of had Christmas already - my sister and my brother-in-law were down at the weekend, they've now left for the other set of parents so we did Christmas Dinner and presents yesterday.
So now I'm very confused as to what day it is.
Off to a mate's later, he always does a Christmas Eve party. And I've taken the dog for a walk and been for a ride this morning. Trying to do this Rapha Festive500 ride - 500km between now and New Years Eve so this morning's 65km was the start to that.
