...despite the shite in my work-life at the moment I still have many reasons to be cheerful.
I wake up every morning grateful I have my health and my sanity(well, just about!)
My little lad's gone from being in big trouble at school to being the star of the week in his class!!!
MrFC has just returned from the co-op with goodies.
I've a week off work to enjoy.

So what little things put a smile on your face? 😀

Friday night film night with my 12 year old son.

An old film of his choosing, a couple of drinks and a quality night.

And a ton of marshmallows burnt to a crisp but he loves roasting them on the fire.

Im a softy but i love these nights cos i know very soon they will stop 😳

Went to parent's evening at my kids' school during the week, both are meeting or exceeding their targets - cheered me right up!

The interrogation I get every Friday when I pick my Granddaughter up from nursery, although I am staff at work I wear the company clothing most days at work, but now and then on Fridays I wear a shirt and decent trousers etc.
Now my GD loves to read all the lettering on my company workshirts, so if I am not wearing one to pick her up I get the 3rd degree and then some..
I phone her on Wednesdays as she has a day with her nanny (my wife) and I get grilled over the phone about what shirt I am wearing to the point my workmates can hear and they know whats going on..

Had a great pillow fight with my daughter earlier, she's five and the little lad joined in too, he's only eighteen months. Really good to see hime back to his old self after the op and subsequent infection.

Oh I haven't got to go to work next week either, then I'm back for two weeks, then another week off, 4 weeks back and then off for two weeks at Christmas.

A week off and a cottage in the Lakes awaits.
Rack fitted to car in readiness for bike loading first-thing.

We only make it there once a year but we squeeze plenty in.

Both kids asleep now. Coughing-away unfortunately, but both "can't wait to be on the Mountains, Daddy"

Bought a suit Jacket.. Had a bit of a jolly today @ another office. I am getting paid for some something that I am 'moderately'(actually very) good at, that allows me to persue my passions and ups my self-esteem. I am happy, healthy, sober & looking to the future (and a good weekend on the bike).

Its my birthday today. It was crap due to work. Then on the upside, I had to take my daughter with me all day as her school announced it was a training day (they told us on Wednesday!)

So for lunch, we went to a little cafe in Yarm and all the woes of work disappeared as I listened to my 12 year old put the world to rights, as kids do....beautiful to listen to & suprisingly well thought out. She reckons her and some friends could sort this country's problems in no time at all 'we've got it all sussed out Dad, we really have!' 🙂 .

The Mrs is going mental with the cleaning, earlier she was emptying, tidying and sorting the cupboards IN MY KITCHEN. Must be the medicine.

I'm sitting back with a beer thinking of all the chores i have to do before I can mess with bikes this weekend.

Have a good 'un all.

"Went to parent's evening at my kids' school during the week, both are meeting or exceeding their targets - cheered me right up!"
(No its not a double post - just wanted to clarify why something as apparently trivial or commonplace means so much to me).
Both my boys are adopted, and while we were going through the process of adopting them, we were told by the social worker handling the case not to have high expectations, and (quote) they're never likely to be rocket scientists.
So (name of social worker removed on legal advice) - UP YOURS!

Hmmm, this "new" person Bomb a dildo seems to be talking about a STW nightclub. Now, who was it who used to do that?

Would it be rude of me to mention names?
