What exactly do you mean by "lost it all"? There is no "all" with Snapchat other than a friends list. It doesn't keep histories, that's the whole point of Snapchat; so teenage boys can send photos of their willy to teenage girls with minimal risk of getting caught.
If an app's been deleted you should just be able to download and reinstall. A forgotten password should be recoverable to an email address.

Anyway, it's quite the opposite, if he has had photos to lose then it's changed since I last used it (I have no idea what a "streak" is either).
Still on the upside, you've both learned an important lesson about backups.
ach, I dunno, all this modern technology.... the pics aren't on his phone, he's just back from a school footie trip to Valencia, he apparently deleted the app to make space for Netflix at the airport. He's now upset he's lost all his pics and contacts...
Maybe he's a lot smarter than I think..... 🙂
