are there any smokers who dispose of their fag ends properly?
funny how fags are casually thrown on the floor by people who would otherwise not throw litter.
what's different about fag ends?
are they biodegradable?
They're invisible, just like the stuff one chucks out of the car window.
it's a culture thing. until the smoking ban ashtrays / bins were pretty much limited to public bins.
at least now most buildings have them on the entrances. bin's are much more common on the continent & appear to be used more too.
I guess there may be some, but you only notice the ones who just chuck them on the floor without a second glance. Does my Swede in, that. Pollute everyone else's atmosphere and then litter the place. Do they not remember Kings Cross?

Yes, I disposed it properly into the fag bin and if there is not one nearby I would keep the fag end in my pocket until I find one.

Exceptions will be when in the car and it's on a motorway/dual carriageway and it really doesn't matter - ok, occassionally minor roads which isn't the best admittedly. Other than that, on site which will be cleaned/covered up anyway. I do try not to just flick them on pavements in towns/villages etc.
it's because people think ,wrongly, that they are only cotton wool and paper when in reality they're a synthetic material that doesn't break down as quickly as people think they do.

I think you'll find our easing of the forthcoming pensions crisis is not only responsible, but highly considerate. To be honest, I'm constantly disappointed we don't receive a bit more gratitude. A few fag butts is a small price to pay to keep you lot in Werthers Originals
The only proper way to dispose of a fag end is in the eye of your enemy.
Put them in bins, carry them until I find a bin. Don't smoke in cars.

i give them to passing children, its up to them to suck hard enough to get it lit properly again or find their own matches.

Hmmmmmm just about. I also remember them banning smoking on public transport immediately afterwards, then banning it completely everywhere indoors. Did you miss that bit? Have you been living in a cave for the last decade?

Would've thought rollies without filters or unroached would breakdown pretty quickly. They're basically just paper mand cured leaves, not much synthetic to stick around in the ecosystem.

It still looks messy. Dumping a load of hardcore in the local beauty spot doesn't really do any damage to the ecosytem, but it doesn't make it acceptable.

Yep, this is one of my bug bears with people throwing away banana skins/apple cores etc... in the countryside and saying " well, it's biodegradable". It still attracts vermin and encourages others to do the same thing though.
Anyone who throws any rubbish out the car should be shot!!!
On numerous occasions at traffic lights I have got out my car and picked up a fag butt just flick out the window by the driver infront of me. I then re-presented it them and asked politely that it is disposed of correctly.
In the majority of times they are happy to take it and deal with, a few people have been surprised that someone is knocking ion the car window and not suprisingly I have been told where to go several times.
Am yet to be fully confronted as they all know they are in the wrong. It also helps being 6ft 2 and 19 stone with a skinhead, kind of puts the tossers off getting our the car and beating me to death.

The filthy runts who throw cigarette butts on the street are probably the same filthy runts who drop litter in general ... litter is litter, regardless of whether it'll biodegrade ... it's lazy and anti-social
