Looking for recommendations for smart casual trousers.

I am a short arse so struggle with leg length. I recently bought some from Crew Clothing in the sales. They are ok, but I can barley sit down in the trousers as the thighs just are too tight.

Spoke appear to get good reviews, and offer different leg lengths and thigh sizings. They are pricey though!

Any recommendations? Ta

Fair enough, ours usually has a right range of weird and wonderful sizes (and it sounds like you're weird and wonderful 😉 ) , but I guess it's luck of the draw.

If chinos are smart enough try Rohan, short arse who now has several pairs of their short length leg walking trousers.

I've a couple of pairs of Spoke trousers and jeans. They fit very well and I'm pleased with the quality.

I'm really of the view now that it's worth paying proper money to get stuff that fits properly if you're a bit of an odd size (I'm tall and slim).

I've got a load of spoke trousers, shirts and t-shirts and they are well made and nicely finished.  The sizing is reliable and predictable as well. Worth the money IMO.

They've got a lot of stuff in the sale right now.  The standard chinos are quite a thin fabric. The bulletproofs are my favourite.

Wasn't very impressed with the quality of Spoke. Ordered two pairs and sent them straight back for a refund. No better that a trouser half the price.

You're not actually paying for the quality but for the much wider range of waist/length/thigh combination.  On Shirts there are 3 lengths (body/arms) and 2 body fits and additional sizes (there a ML between a normal medium and a large).

In terms of quality you're probably right.  I think stuff like buttons, pockets etc is all very nicely done but theres nothing amazing. I'm sure there's stuff in M&S that is equally as good.  I can get jeans that fit elsewhere but most of the very few places that do leg lengths long enough for me don't do them in a small enough waist (Hebtroco being one example).

For shirts I've not found anything but proper custom that fits as well as Spoke for me (formal shirts maybe, but ever vaguely casual gets much harder)

I've got 2 pairs of Spoke trousers and a pair of their jeans.  They are reliable in terms of sizing but I would not pay full price for them.
If you can get 40 or 50% off then they're very good.

buy some trousers you like that fit in the waist and thigh, then take them to a tailor to be altered? getting trousers taken up shouldn't cost more than 15 quid.

Have a look at Brook Taverner. Good quality and loads of size options

I found that if they had a size clothing that fitted me then it was fine but they weren't quite as bespoke as they were claiming to be. Personally speaking I found marks and Spencers to be much better....

I took a punt on some revolution race travel-work type trousers after being bombarded for months. Thought they were excellent, and pleasantly surprised.

They have a massive range on unnecessary variants but you should be able to find something.

Penguin shaped gentleman here. Got a few pairs of Spokes and generally pretty happy with them. As someone else said, you're paying for the vast range of shapes and sizes, not the quality (though they're totally fine, bar the mustard ones which have split at the crotch three times and been replaced for free each time).

Once you've found your fit, have a look on Vinted. There's always tonnes of them on there at a fraction of new £.

M&S have some very nice mokeskin trousers at the moment. Plenty of room in the thighs, nice soft stretch and good selection of short legs. I bought a couple in different colours. Think they were £50-60
