We have a small tear in the side of our tent, about one inch. Currently emergency patched with duct tape. In the tent bag there are small patches of tent cloth, clearly to be used for repairs. Does anyone know what you are meant to do with these? Do they stitch on? Problematical, I can't sew. Or glue on? Thanks.
rip in a welly
a rolling donut
etc...
You can get special glue, like for kite repairs, or even kite repair tape which is reinforced.

Thanks Kayak, just ordered the kit.
Glory hole...
Spinnaker repair tape would work well too.
Spinnaker tape and seam sealer - done it lots on tents that have then lasted years. Cur corners rounded of the patch - less likely to peel in future.

There is a couple of videos of ways to repair tents on YouTube, not that I was looking for them on a campsite having ripped our new to us tent putting it up for the first time.
I went for tenacious tape on the outside and seam-grip on the inside, the area that ripped has the potential to be under tension so I went for the full strength option.
