Hi all,

Looking for a small tripod to take travelling. Will be used for video as well as pics, so want vaguely smooth panning action. Cameras will just be a compact and a GoPro.

Extendable legs would be good, but don't need to be silly long.

Light and compact are the main requirements (as well as being priced reasonably)

Something like this would be ideal, but preferably with better reviews ๐Ÿ˜›

Ta, Duane.

Why not take a monopod instead, doubles as a walking stick if you need it.

Buy which ever manfrotto you can afford

Or maybe a gastropod, for slower panning

Would a Monopod be more suitable perhaps?

Hmm, hadn't thought of a monopod, can you get decent smooth shots with them?

One drawback I guess is that you can't get self shots, or long exposures.

I've found this which looks OK, although reviews seem to suggest legs are a little wobbly (but maybe its as simple as not fully extending it)

Then there's this which I guess will be a lot sturdier, but a lot heavier (nearly 789g rather than the above which is 422g, which I already thought was heavy..)

Just bury it in the ground

How about a gorillapod?

I already have one (well a copy), can't pan with it.
