So the concrete lip into my garage is crumbling and needs to be replaced, rather than making a new lip out of concrete id like a small removable ramp, something that can be lifted up easily but could be fixed in place at a later date if i decide to
My Google Fu is failing me, I'm looking for something in the dimensions below and preferably something solid in plastic or alloy, nothing rubber that has to be stuck down etc.. budget is £40 ish
Dimensions are 250cm long (happy to cut down to size if needed) depth 10cm and height is 4cm (thats the height difference between the drive and the top of the garage floor) even better if the ramp has a 2/3cm overlap at the top so it could be stuck down to the top of the garage floor if needed at a later date
It needs to be strong enough to have a car driven over it everyday and needs to be the full 250cm long
There’s a company online called Aluminium online I think, they have a huge range. You might get away with some checker plate aluminium for that drill and screw the top edge. If it’s only a 4cm rise it won’t need to bear much weight, if it’s only a 4cm rise why bother? Width wise most sheets of anything are 2440mm maximum -the equivalent of 8 feet so you’ll probably need a join.
Cold lay tarmac from Wickes might do as good a job?
Cheers ill check them out
Even though its only a 4cm rise its still a trip hazard for the kids plus i don't want the main part of the garage floor to start breaking up if I'm bumping over it every day in the car, id rather not use tarmac as i want something that can be quickly & easily removed and fitted again for now
A 3m treated 2x4 timber from Travis Perkins and a friend with a table saw to cut it along the length on an angle?
3mm aluminium should be fine.
Glue rubber on top to blend in or use a self-adhesive anti-slip tape.
Splitting treated timber will expose untreated wood, the treatment doesn't penetrate far so additional work will be needed
Why not just make it out of concrete?
4cm isn’t much, could you get someone with a large concrete saw to cut a 45 degree mitre into the edge of the garage floor? Steady hand or some sort of rudimentary jig on a 9” grinder and you’ve got a permanent ramp that can’t move or get leaves and weeds stuck behind it.

well, yes. But it’ll still last years. And be easy to move in and out of place which is one of the requirements.
and will cost about £15, plus a beer for a mate. And you’ll get two out of it if you cut it right, so you’ll have a spare.
and you could treat it with whatever half can of fence preserver you have in the shed if you really want.
