MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Was going to post this on the 'meadow' thread, but thought it might be better not hijacking that one and starting a separate conversation.
I'm trying to interest some of our young people in using the ground round the building we run our work from to develop an 'environment project' - I have no preset ideas about what should be done, other than trying to make the space more attractive and hopefully create an area that would have some value as a community resource. Ideally I'd like them to come up with ideas that interest/inspire them.
There are several areas of open ground of varying sizes round the site, so we could end up with a number of small sections where different ideas could be put into practice. If anyone has any experience of doing work like this, or links to other groups who have done something like this, it would be great to hear about them.
I regularly see "community groups" out working around me - I know that several groups like the feds, national probation services and local schools would more than lightly benefit from small projects like yours and the associated activities.
I cannot really suggest anything, because I do not know anything specific, but if you get in touch with your favoured local group - they will probably have a myriad of suggestions for you. I hope you get something constructive going together. Good Luck 🙂
Getting in touch with your local Groundwork wouldn't hurt, our local group are always interested in projects like that and are always helpful. Good luck 🙂
