If I take my viewing card, will the Sky box in the apartment out there be able to receive the same channels as I get at home?
You should be able to receive everything , however if it's stopping there and you're subscribing that payments still come out of a UK bank account , apparently they aren't keen on non uk accounts as it's only supposed to be available in the UK , you can still receive it in Spain and the western side of Greece so I can't see France being a problem.

Oh, this is only for a week!! Mum and dad and wee bro are out there, got bugger all channels on the box out there so want me to bring the card out when I'm over next week.
Cheers.
It's unlikely to work in my experience.
Conor - It will work but when we take our sky card which has the full package we dont get all the channels, in fact i think we get the basic package, we cannot get the movies, sports and a lot of the other stuff. Someone told me it was due to the fact that the card cannot be validated as we do not have the system connected through the phone line as it is in the UK. Def worth taking though.
You won't get subscription channels through a box the card isn't registered to though. If you're going by car then it might be as easy to chuck the whole box into the car.
As above - the card & box are tied for all the premium packages & need to be used as a pair
Other than that that it will work fine
