I've got the navigation bar (home|forums|the mag etc) at the top just coming up as a bulleted list on the side

Yep. CSS caching problem I presume.
A forced Refresh sorted it out (i.e. Control+F5)

Hopefully the new version won't have so much resource sucking crap javascript going on (once it's sorted out).
