My son broke his phone, which has a yr left on Contract with Tesco Mobile, on a £10 a month deal. Looking for a very cheap basic SIM free handset that will work with this SIM (gonna give it to father in law). Do these 'SIM free' phones for £15 online work on pretty much any network, in particular Tesco ?

Yes they do.
I have just bought a cheap Nokia 100 from Tesco whilst my Blackberry has gone in for repair.

I just bought an unlocked samsung from Tesco for £15, there was also a nokia for £20. Seems fine and will see me through until I get another smartphone under contract in the new year.
