There is a little cheating here, I used a filter (my shades).

It's not a high quality image, but it's interesting and if I didn't happen to have the phone in my pocket when I that light coming through the trees, then I would have a no-quality image, because i wouldn't have been able to take it!

Personally I think that having a decent camera on your phone, and access to editing apps like Instagram is one of the prime examples of how technology has made our lives infinitely better. Last summer I had my Canon digital SLR, complete with a range of lenses stolen. I haven't bothered replacing it. Unless you're a professional photographer I just don't see the point. I never used it!

The majority of pics from my Moto G are passable at best. I occasionally get something nice - they do tend to be the ones where the automatic HDR kicks in, or where the light is pretty spectacular to begin with. Seriously considering an iPhone when I need to get a new phone, solely for the difference in camera quality, but they are not cheap 🙁

Bam! Tech is great and all that otherwise we'd still be using chemicals and oodles of time to make a picture - but taking interesting pictures can be achieved by any camera whatsoever. The iphone 5 is many leagues ahead of my first and second digicams (Nikon something and Canon Powershot something). albeit not as much fun to use. The Nikon had a metal swivelling body and felt just incredible to use. While the phone OTH feels pants to use but is always there and delivers much better IQ so a win-win. Add-in the ability to edit/enhance instantly via apps and my phone becomes a photographic sketchbook where I can test out ideas to work on later, to paint, to capture a moment. 'Capturing the moment' sounds so cliched but really if its not all about the moment then its invariably all about tech - and that fails to capture my imagination*. Some great shots here as ever.

Most of the images on my Flickr are from my phone (old Galaxy S3 with a camera way better than it has any right to be - hope my new Oneplus Two does as well).

Been a bit obsessed recently by trees and reflections, as well as continuing my obsession with heavy processing (although not as heavy as some I now realise from this thread!). I tend to use Snapseed for this, but also Aviary.

Looking back through old iPhone 4 files I realised that the inherent limitations (tendency to blow highlights, dreadful colour, low res etc) forced me to work with them. This (for me) meant going monochrome and have been often delighted with the fresh results, so much so have wondered if I may have been less succesful with the SLR.

I took this on my old LG Nexus 3 that I dragged out of retirement whilst my superdooper 20mp Sony phone was being repaired.

The lens flare/backlighting was intended but I didn't expect to get a good shot as I was on a very excitable horse that would much prefer to canter forward/sideways than stand still, reins and whip in one hand, gloves in teeth and the other hand holding the phone and at the same time trying to tap the shutter button 🙂

I love this photo; I'd been staying with friends who live not far from where it was taken, and for three days the cloud-base was 100' lower than their house, with strong winds and drizzle, so I didn't leave the guest accommodation I was in, except to drive down to the pub in the evening, and this was the first day with clear weather, although there were showers, and you can see the 'cat's paws' on the sea surface, the little yacht had just weighed anchor and was heading back towards Dartmouth on the other side of the bay. I've got a fairly big print of this on my wall at work, and I could look at it for hours, given the opportunity!
