Assuming you haven't got a roof problem, then you have my sympathy. Several friends have suffered it.

I have had it.

Find a dark room.

Inhabit it for a few days, groaning if anyone let's light in....

Oooph. My sympathies - get all the painkillers you can out your GP!

Had the opthalmic variety last year- if you have the same get yourself to an eye unit ASAP. Given the choice of having it again or taking a week-long kicking to the spuds, the spuds would have it.

Get well soon!

It's uncomfortable i grant you, but it cpuld be worse. Mrs_d has just been through treatment for cancer and her dad is ill with suspected bowel cancer.

Compared to that, this is just an itch i can't scratch

Very occasionally shingles can be fatal. I know someone who nearly died from it, this guy :

It's left him permanently damaged.

Take it easy and give your body a chance to recover.

I'm on acyclovir and, when it gets really uncomfortable, co-codamol. But sparingly.
