How should I go about roofing my shed?
It's an 18mm OSB board roof and i want to insulate it with a 50mm celotex board.
I think i want to use normal shed felt as the top layer. I'm assuming i should then use a breathable underlayer directly underneath it, followed by the osb 3, a gap, the insulation board, a non breathable membrane and then the plasterboard on top of that.
Am I right? Should I use adhesive of some kind to attach the felt to the roof/underlayer or simply nail it on?
Confused.
Did gfs, but nowhere near your level of sophistication...
Old felt off, new felt on, short clout nails at 6" on horizontals, bitumen to bond layers of felt together and I covered all nail heads with this as well. Bottom edges fitted by nailing wooden trips over edge and then stanley kniving the overflow.
I wouldn't bond the felt to anything (except other felt) as otherwise it'll be an arse to change (as it'll be stuck to everything)and if you buy crap felt (ie DO NOT BUY CRAP FELT), it'll only last a couple of years.
