Thinking about moving on from using a cheap knife sharpener to trying a sharpening stone.
I presume I should be getting a combination stone, but what grades and any other stuff I should be looking for?
I bought a 2-grade one from Amazon for about £15. Works really well and, with practice, you can get a great edge.

Tips here from a previous thread.

I went for this, a bit finer than the one linked to above. I've now done all my cheap knives and they're so much better.
YouTube has loads of videos (as does the other thread). Best tips I got from them was listen for the sound and aim for a polished edge with the finest stone. Using a marker on the edge also helps you tell which bits you're working.
Get a strol for keeping it oh so sharp
