So I've just spent the last hour in the car waiting to get out of my work car park (in Bracknell) as the snow has managed to gridlock all roads around here seemingly and I've no idea when / if I'll be able to get out tonight.

So I thought I'd come back into the office, at least it's warm and the vending machines are well stocked! Any suggestions as to how to amuse myself?

Is there not a good pub near by?

Oh wait, Bracknell. Maybe not 😉

I left early good job as it was a blizzard coming into Southampton. Now off riding to my mate house to add some anti-freeze to my blood for the ride home 🙂

Photograph yourself doing obscene things with any other people's stuff, then email them the pictures after you next see them using said item.

Can you get home by any other none-road-based means?

having been stranded at work all night by flooding a couple of years ago I'd suggest anything is better than a night on the floor under the desk.

MAte from work is stuck in Four Marks. He has spent the last hour in the car and has travelled 1/2 mile.

@ porterclough - yes quite, it's Bracknell....I value my life!

@ soma_rich - b*stard 😉

@ jackthedog - don't worry if it comes to it I'll walk back the 15 odd miles to get home!

And the snow continues to fall.......

He has now abandonded his car in Bentworth and is walking the 3 miles to his house. Apparently its 4 inches deep and still lobbing it down, and a bus has ceashed off the road in Four Marks.
You could go to The JDW in Bracknell, The Old Manor .It will be warm and cosy, and full of scussers, but the beer is cheap, and there is a high chance i will have made one of beers on tap.
Raining on the coast now.

I'm very glad I used my common sense and came home early today. I can now laugh at everyone getting stuck...

if it's ONLY 3 miles - why the heck is he driving anyhow? Wish I worked that close and had the chance to ride into work.

I ended up having to walk 8 odd miles home on Friday after the snow meant trains weren't working and it was impassable by bike. They're still not working 3 days later - had to do a rather hairy ride / walk home today. Better but very icy still.

There's at least one person in our office who's headed in this afternoon in the knowledge that they'll probably be spending the night as they won't be able to get a train home.

ATPipes.= You are correct . He managed about 7 miles in the car, and had to walk from a country lane as even that was blaocked. City airport , Stanstead and Luton are experiencing massive delays. As are all the motorways within 20 odd miles of London.

hehe 😀

I'm feeling just a little smug that I got a lift in a proper landrover today before Reading became grid locked, my house mate is currently stuck somewhere in his freelander 😛
