Whats the best way to sell an £20000 car second hand, the part ex i've been offered is a little low so i thought i'd try myself.

Ebay or Autotrader? is there any more?

Has anyone done it? and how does the buyer pay?

Thanks.

Selling? If it's a little away from the mainstream, then owners clubs, websites etc.

There's also Pistonheads (web, free) or Top Marques (magazine format, costs to advertise, tends to focus on the more expensive stuff).

As for the buyer: anyway you can agree on!

I'd go with Autotrader. eBay is good for buying, but rubbish for selling. You'll get endless messages saying, "I'll give you ten grand cash", or "will you part ex my 1990 Escort it's worth at least 5k cos it's got special wheels"

Another shout for Pistonheads, particularly if it's a sporty or prestige car. Free too.
