Can anyone recommend a good, secure side-hinged garage door please? I won't be storing a car in there but a few bikes and would like to get something that has multiple locks and good insulation. I've seen a few recommendations online for Carteck, but no idea on prices.
Does anyone have any recommendations and also any idea of price for a standard single garage door? Thanks 🙂
No advice, sorry, but watching with interest as have wonder about replacing the up and over door on the garage in my new house to a double (possibly asymmetric) to allow easy pedestrian entry (hopefully only for those with the key).
Another recommendation for Carteck I'm afraid - not cheap but very nice. This our order:

Ours just has the standard top and bottom bolts but seems pretty good - there is a more secure option if I remember correctly.
Fitted it myself as the fitters wanted about £350 and it wasn't difficult. Asymetric doors work really well for us as this isn't actually a garage, more of a utility room and we rarely need both doors open. It replaced a 35 year old glass fibre up and over sectional door.
Fitting a side hinged door was the most useful home improvement I've done. Access is so easy, no more braining my self on a slightly dropper up and over.
Fairly easy to fit with a helping hand.
Security is way better than previous, as always the weak point is the Euro lock. Can't remember the brand of the top of my head but it was a mid range UK made one, no insulation.

That's great, thanks. I'm not looking for windows so that may bring the price down, although looking for black with vertical sections so that'll probably bring it back up lol. Can I ask where you ordered from please? And do you think it's secure enough? I don't need it massively secure as I had a bog standard door for about 7 years with normal shed bolts on the inside, and didn't have any issues. Fancy something a bit better this time though.
Windows didn't make much of a difference to the price and are quite nice to have (frosted so not really a security issue). I used Arridge Garage Doors.
I had good service from Lathams on a single security door. Looks like they do side hinged double garage doors too
