Is there a good web site to look at, to get info about courses etc. Google seems to have let me down.

try the sea section of ukriversguidebook.co.uk they should be good for advice.

The BCU (British Canoe Union) will give you a list of courses, clubs and coaches. Loads of places do them a club is your best bet if there;s one local as they will have coaches and run regular trips. Sea kayaking can be very dangerous if you're doing anything more than pootling around a quite bay as when it goes wrong you've got to be able to sort yourself out in deep water with no help.

I have a sit on top which I use out on the coast a lot. Wat are you looking to learn on a course? It can generally all be picked up much better from a club of some sort.

Check wilderness scotland etc if you want some practise.
